Sudbury MP Paul Lefebvre, is giving Sudburians the opportunity to send a personal message to Alex Trebek.

Born, raised and educated in Sudbury, Trebek has gone on to become the long-time host of one of America’s most beloved game shows, Jeopardy!

Following Trebek’s recent announcement that he is being treated for pancreatic cancer, and to show the community's support for him, MP Lefebvre is encouraging Sudburians to sign a City of Greater Sudbury flag wishing Trebek well.

Trebek will be honoured at an event in Ottawa on May 13, and Lefebvre will present him with the flag then.

“On behalf of all Sudburians, I want to tell Alex how proud we are to have him as one of our own,” Lefebvre said. “I hope we can come together as a community and tell him: We are with you in this fight and we are proud of everything you have accomplished.”

Sudburians are encouraged to come by MP Paul Lefebvre’s office at 152 Durham Street until Friday, May 10 to sign the flag.

The flag will also be available for signing at Tom Davies Square on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3, and other locations to be announced shortly.

More details will be available on Lefebvre’s Facebook page:
