Eager shoppers lined up around the building at Sudbury's Winners-Homesense location today as the store opened its doors for the first time in months.
The Marcus Drive store has been closed since the province declared a state of emergency in March. Finally, on May 27, the store was able to once again welcome shoppers inside the store.
Winner-Homesense will be open on modified hours with new safety procedures in place to protect shoppers and store employees.
The store will be open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Winners shared a post on Instagram on Monday, indicating that they were close to opening, and the response was rapid, with more than 7,000 people liking the post.
The post indicated that the store will be taking enhanced cleaning measures, providing santization products for shoppers, adding protective screens at cash registers and encouraging physical distancing inside the store.
Associates will be wearing face masks, and the store is encouraging customers to do the same.
