ICMYI: Killer applies for permission to visit Sudbury:

A notorious multiple murderer is applying for parole that would allow him visits to a halfway house in Greater Sudbury. As he did in the spring of 2015, George Harding Lovie is applying for permission to travel to a halfway house in Sudbury for temporary stays. Check out Darren MacDonald's story here.

Opioid addiction a major issue in the north:

The gravity of Ontario's problem with opioid addiction, and the toll it takes on thousands of people every year, is not fully understood by the public, says the lead author of a new report on opioid use and its adverse effects in the province. Expect lane closures on Lorne Street next week:

The installation of monitoring wells will result in intermittent lane closures in the northbound and southbound curb lanes on Lorne Street, at Walnut Street and at Birch Street, from Nov. 15 to 17.
