Monday is Paint the Town Purple for Epilepsy:

Bring out your purple sweater, and wear it proud to support 1 in 100 Canadians who suffer from epilepsy. P&M's Kouzzina in New Sudbury will be hosting a special event today to raise aware of this often misunderstood diagnosis. The Sudbury Purple Day – an annual celebration on March 26, supported by epilepsy charities and organization around the world was hosted by a Sudbury native Jamie Suban back in 2015. Big Projects rezoning meetings: 

Greater Sudbury's planning committee is inviting the public to comment on plans to approve rezoning applications for the new arena and casino planned for land on The Kingsway.The meetings will be held today and on Wednesday on three applications for rezoning. The meeting will give residents who are in attendance to speak on the rezoning issue for five minutes. The meeting will be held the in council chambers at Tom Davies Square, on beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday is provincial budget day: 

The Ontario government who will be delivering its annual budget on Wednesday. Despite its promises of a balanced budget, the upcoming fiscal plan will be running a deficit to fund programs for seniors, women and students ahead of a spring election. The deficit is projected to be of less than one per cent of its gross domestic product starting next year, but a specific figure has not been confirmed. Research grant will fund six new public health projects:

Six new research projects are being kicked off in Sudbury thanks to funding from the Louise Picard Public Health Research Grant. The grants, valued at up to $5,000 and jointly funded by Laurentian University and Public Health Sudbury & Districts, encourage collaboration on research that is relevant to public health. Ontario government announces significant funding to tackle greenhouse gas emissions:

The Ontario government pledged a total of $1.6M toward research in tackling the problem of greenhouse gas emissions as part of their Climate Change Action Plan. The announcement was made at Laurentian University on Friday as part of their research week celebration. The funding will support large industries in industries in their quest to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, Minister of Research, Innovation and Science Reza Moridi said.
