The staff and students at École secondaire catholique Champlain in Chelmsford have made a donation of $200 to the HSN Volunteer Association Pennies For Pediatrics campaign.

The students raised the money by hosting a baby pool for three staff members who are expecting babies.

“At Champlain, we support causes that help children,” said Carol Bradley-Whissell, a teacher at Champlain.

“The students came up with the idea of a baby pool because some of our staff are expecting, so we thought it was a fun, original way to raise money.”

The goal of Pennies For Pediatrics is to raise $100,000 for the construction of a Snoezelen Pool, which uses special sound and lighting for the treatment of children with developmental conditions such as autism.
