Sudburians flock to SudburyROCKS!!!

Runners hit the streets to raise money for Canadian Diabetes Association

Hundreds of people from Sudbury and beyond showed up for the Sudbury Rocks!!! Race, Run, or Walk for Diabetes on Sunday, May 14.

The event kicked off in the early hours with the CIS Marathon Walk getting underway at 6 a.m.

A total of eight different runs and walks went off, ranging from a kids' one kilometre run up to a full marathon. The Vale Celebrity 5K capped off the event with a 9 a.m. start time and featured a celebrity lineup that included Sudbury Wolves owner Dario Zulich and Sudbury.com managing editor, Mark Gentili.

Donations from the Sudbury Rocks!!! Race, Run, or Walk for Diabetes helps the Canadian Diabetes Association provide education and services to support people in their daily fight against the disease; advocate on behalf of people with diabetes for the opportunity to achieve their highest quality of life; and break ground towards a cure.

Check out our photo gallery from this morning's run, and be sure to check back with us to find out how much was raised on the day.
