Sudbury Catholic District School Board has just hired four new teachers, two to teach elementary school and two to teach secondary school, said superintendent of education and employee relations Roland Muzzatti.
The board hired the teachers after it learned it had 56 more students register than anticipated, 28 elementary and 28 secondary. As well, the board has re-hired seven and a half elementary teachers who were laid off in June.
"It's kind of a wonderful problem...to have more students than projected," said board chair Paula Peroni.
