Three health centres in Sudbury are expected to be using electronic health records by 2015, announced Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci.

The Shkagamik-Kwe Aboriginal Health Access Centre already has electronic records and the Sudbury East Community Health Centre and the Centre de santé communautaire du Grand Sudbury are expected to come online by next summer.

“Electronic health records will go a long way toward helping better serve patients who often have greater health challenges and need care delivered quickly and efficiently across different service points,” Bartolucci said in a release.

About 75 per cent of Ontario primary care physicians currently use or are in the process of installing an electronic health record in their practice.
