Brigitte Laing of Sudbury hit the jackpot in May's HSN 50/50 Cash Lottery for the North, taking home close to $915,000.
“I never get phone calls in the morning, so right away I knew something was strange,” said Brigitte. “Naturally I thought the call was a prank and when I was assured that the call was no joke, I just fell into tears. It has been a really hard year and this is a life-changing gift for us.”
Brigitte and her husband, Stephen, have some ideas of how they plan to spend their winnings.
“We’re definitely going to pay off the mortgage, but we both consider ourselves foodies and we love to cook so we might make some renovations to the kitchen. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a long time, but never had the spare cash to do it, so that’s going to be a dream come true for us.”

To celebrate, HSN wants to give away more great prizes. The lottery will be bringing back the popular “12 Days of Winning” early bird draws from December.
Over the first three weeks of June, ticket purchasers will have 12 chances to win incredible prizes donated by local businesses and the biggest early bird prize yet, $10,000 cash.
Those who wish to enter into the draws are encouraged to buy their tickets before 8 a.m. on Monday, June 7 to be entered into the $10,000 early bird draw and into all “12 Days of Winning” draws.

Any tickets purchased before 8 a.m. the day of the early bird draws will be included in that day’s draw, i.e., to be included in the June 9 th draw, you must have purchased your ticket before June 9 at 8 a.m.
Also this month, the most popular and best value ticket price of 350 tickets for $75 is back for another month.
The jackpot is updated online in real-time and continues to grow as more people participate. Each month half of the total ticket sales support patient care at HSN and the other half to one lucky winner.
Funds raised will make a difference in the lives of those living with cancer, how the tiniest patients receive specialized pediatric care and ensuring equipment is in place when needed to provide quality patient care.
Residents across Ontario over the age of 18 can purchase tickets for a chance to win. Tickets for the June draw are available to purchase right now, with sales ending at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 28 .
The jackpot-winning ticket will be drawn on Tuesday, June 29 at 10 a.m. and posted online at www.hsn5050.ca.
