Sudbury Five solid in dominating 31 point victory over Toundra

The Sudbury Five were at home on Saturday night to take on the Montreal Toundra, hoping to avenge a loss against the Toundra in Montreal a few nights
ago.
AJ Mosby Jr., Jalen Hayes, Cody John, Landon Kirkwood, and Evan Harris were the starting five on the court for Sudbury in this game.

Right from the start the Five were firing on all cylinders on both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball. Mosby Jr. and Landon Kirkwood contributed 22 and 15 points respectively in the entire game, and after the first quarter of play, the Five held a 3-point lead, by a score of 27-24.

Marcus Ottey and Antoine Mason contributed solid numbers for the Toundra in the game, with 13 and 12 points respectively, and were within striking distance at
halftime, trailing the Five 57-46

Sam Daniel and Andrew Whitsett also contributed to Sudbury’s high octane offense in the game with 13 and 12 points each, and in the third quarter Sudbury
began to distance themselves from Montreal and held an 84-69 lead with one quarter remaining in the game.

The Five saved their best quarter for last, scoring 33 points while holding Montreal to just 17 of their own, with Lance Adams putting up 10 points in the game and Haroun Mohamed scoring 5 of his own to seal a huge 31 point victory for the Five, with 117-86 being the final score.

With the victory, the Five hold a record of 5 wins and 2 losses on the season, good for a tie with the London Lightning for second place in the new Basketball Super League.

The Five hit the road in Windsor for a game against the Windsor Express on Friday, January 26th with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. then head home for a game against the same Windsor Express on Sunday, January 28 th with tipoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
