Greater Sudbury will soon have a second Giant Tiger store.
The discount retailer will open a new South End store Aug. 13 in a 30,000-square-foot space that used to house a grocery store in the Southridge Mall.
The already existing Giant Tiger store in the city is located at 2208 Lasalle Blvd.
The company plans to hire 30 to 40 people to work full- and part-time at the store, said Caitlin Farnham, community events and public relations associate with Giant Tiger Stores Limited, in an email to Sudbury.com.
“We have chosen to open a second location in Sudbury, as residents of Sudbury have been asking for a second location for quite some time, and we are always looking to grow and expand,” she said.
“We are thrilled to be opening up a second location in the Sudbury community, and look forward to continue to serve the residents of Sudbury.”
