Sudbury Hydro seeks to lower electricity rates by 13 cents a month

If approved, the utility would reduce the amount it charges customers each month by 13 cents for the typical residential customer beginning on May 1. Other customers, including businesses, may be affected as, well.

“The requested rate decrease is tied to inflation (and other factors intended to promote efficiency),” Greater Sudbury Hydro said in a release on its website.

The energy board will hold a public hearing to consider Greater Sudbury Hydro’s request and determine whether the utility has followed all the requirements necessary to have its request approved.
