Raising awareness and raising funds is all part of the fun planned for this coming Friday night at the Rhythm 'N Cues billiards and pool parlour at 1855 Lasalle Boulevard.
The 9-Ball Tournament is part of a Movember event in support of research and awareness for Testicular Cancer.
The event is titled “Ball in Hand,” a cheeky play on words in light of the April Awareness Month for testicular cancer.
Ball In Hand is taking place Friday, April 19 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the popular Rhythm 'N Cues venue in Sudbury. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to the Movember Foundation. Anyone interested can sign up here.
The Movember Canada organization is a registered charity dedicated to raising awareness of testicular cancer, men’s health in general, and advising men of things they should be aware of regarding their bodies and how to get medical attention if something doesn't feel right. Movember said testicular cancer is the number one cancer in younger men in Canada.
The good news said Movember is that the disease is highly curable when it is detected and reported early.
Movember is advising that young men should get a "ball in hand" and learn what is normal and what is not and be able to act on it when something doesn't feel right.
