The City of Greater Sudbury has set up a One-Stop Resource Team to help community groups and volunteers navigate municipal services.

“Last year, I committed to the creation of a City contact point for community organizations and volunteers,” Mayor Paul Lefebvre said in a media release issued by the city.

“I am pleased that we now have a dedicated team in place to help our local volunteers more easily navigate City processes and to support them with the great work they’re doing in our community. Our volunteers are critical in enhancing quality of life for residents and I look forward to seeing the positive results created by this change.”

The team is part of the Community Initiatives and Partnership Section, which falls under the City’s Leisure Services division, and will be the main point of contact for community groups and volunteers.

This section brings together a group of existing employees who were doing related work in various areas of the organization.

The team will receive and manage all requests, guide community groups through policies and processes, provide information on funding, and support community- and volunteer-led projects from start to finish.
