Sudbury Wolves take the game to heart for Heart and Stroke

A partnership between the Wolves and Desjardins, the game raised more than $6,000 for research

Thanks to fans at the Sudbury Wolves game on March 11, the Heart and Stroke foundation will receive a donation of $6,300, raised through an online jersey auction and a paper airplane toss at the game.

Aptly called the Heart and Stroke Foundation game, the initiative was the result of a partnership between the Sudbury Wolves and Desjardins Ontario Credit Union.

“We are very fortunate to have community-minded partners such as Desjardins who are committed to giving back to the community just like we are,” said Miranda Boivin, SWSE Marketing Manager. “We would like to thank the Desjardins management and employees for their support of this event. These types of events are not only about raising money, but also raising awareness for these charities and nonprofit organizations in the community; while also having fun and enhancing the game experience for fans.”

The Heart and Stroke Foundation jerseys were one of two special jerseys that the Wolves wore during the 2021-2022 season. The Wolves also raised over $4800 for the President's Choice Children’s Charity.
