Donna Clarke of Sudbury is a happy gal after winning $100,000 with ENCORE (April 9, 2016 LOTTO 6/49). She matched six of seven winning numbers on her ENCORE selection.
“I play the lottery every week,” Clarke said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where she picked up her winnings. “I’ve been playing the same numbers for a decade.”
Clarke checked her winning ticket two days following the draw while picking up groceries.
“I was cleaning out my wallet and scanned the ticket in the ticket checker. I saw, 'Big Winner!’ on the screen and $100. I wasn’t sure how many zeros there were. I got the cashier’s attention and said, ‘I think I won something.’”
After validating her ticket, Clarke rushed back to work to call her husband. “He said, ‘$100 plus three more zeros?’ I replied, ‘Yup!’ My husband said, ‘Take the day off’ but I continued to work knowing my ticket was safe in my wallet.”
Clarke is planning to use her windfall to pay off her car, some bills and her mortgage.
“This money means I can relax for a while and enjoy some quality time with my family,” she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Rexall Drug Store on Bancroft Drive in Sudbury.
