Photos: Sudbury's iconic summer festival is on. It's NLFB weekend

Sudbury 's Northern Lights Festival Boréal has become one of the iconic music events of summer in Sudbury

Hundreds of Sudburians began pouring into Bell Park Saturday morning to continue the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Northern Lights Festival Boréal (NLFB). It has become one of Sudbury's iconic music events of summer, said Sudbury.Com freelance feature writer Vicki Gilhula.

The festival began with performances Thursday evening and continued with more shows on Friday, but on Saturday literally scores of vendors, artists and crafters flooded the festival grounds and the arts village to add their flavour to the event.
The festival continues Saturday and Sunday with workshops and musical performances beginning at noon and continuing until late in the evening.
Tickets are available online, at the gate and at offsite performance venues at the Townehouse Tavern and The Lounge (Quality Inn on Elgin). The festival is a family event and children aged 14 and younger are invited to join the older crowd for free.

To learn more about the festival, supporters can visit the NFLB website for a complete list of the artists, or drop by Bell Park at Paris and York Streets and take in the festival live.

Sudbury.Com weather is predicting sunny skies and favourable weather for today and tomorrow.
