The Summer Company program is back for another year giving local students aged 15 to 29 the chance to be their own boss.
Students receive up to $3,000 to cover startup and operation costs.
“Startup funding is important. What’s just as important however, is the coaching and mentorship students receive throughout the summer,” said Judy Benvenuti, co-ordinator of the Regional Business Centre. “They develop transferable skills in the areas of time management, accounting, marketing and sales that will help in their future working life.”
Summer Company is a program funded by the Government of Ontario and administered by the Regional Business Centre to encourage entrepreneurship among students.
The application deadline is May 8, 2015. For more information, visit ontario.ca/summercompany or contact the Regional Business Centre at 705-688-7582.
