The French public school board for this area and the union representing its supply teachers have reached a tentative agreement.

If ratified, the deal between Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario and the Association des enseignantes et enseignants Franco-ontariens – suppléants du Nord-Ouest publique is retroactive to Sept. 1, 2014, and will be in effect until Aug. 31 of next year.

“The board is extremely pleased with the proposed agreement that benefits the supply teaching staff of CSPGNO,” said CSPGNO chair Jean-Marc Aubin, in a press release.

“By working hand in hand with our supply teachers, we are able to continue offering our students top-quality education in a stimulating and dynamic learning environment.”

The tentative agreement is expected to be ratified in the weeks to come, the press release said.
