The Greater Sudbury Police Service is advising the public the westbound lane on The Kingsway at Silver Hills Drive is temporarily closed due to a large sink hole some two feet deep.
The traffic concern was called in by a member of the public, police say. Public Works has been notified.
Traffic is progressing slowly and drivers may want to access alternative routes until further notice.
Police will provide further details later and advise when the roadway will be open to traffic.
