Traffic update: downtown bogged down with construction

Access to Elm from Elgin Street North will remain closed for two weeks. Elgin Street South will remain open and not affected.

Access to Elm from Elgin Street North will remain closed for two weeks. Elgin Street South will remain open and not affected.

Elm Street east and west at the Elgin intersection will continue to be one lane in each direction during daytime hours under the direction of traffic lights.

Elm Street will be closed between Elgin Street and Durham this evening starting at 8 p.m. Police will be on site during night work to control traffic. The road will re-open at 6 a.m. on Aug. 25.

East bound Brady Street between Minto Street and Shaughnessy Street are expected to be closed until around 7 p.m. following a vehicle on pedestrian collision.

Paving operations at the intersection of Highway 69 North (MR 80) in Val Caron at Main Street will take place starting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 24, until 6 a.m. Aug. 25. Police will be on site, directing traffic.

Bell will be conducting fibre optic work on Notre Dame Ave., just south of Lasalle Blvd., resulting in the north bound curb lane being closed on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Paving of a trench will close the north bound curb lane on Paris Street at John Street on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
