Traffic update: downtown closures on Elgin

Paving operations will close Elgin Street, between Ste. Anne Road and Beech Street and Beech Street to Elm Street, on Oct. 16, 17, and 19. Final paving, surface asphalt, will take place on Oct. 20 and 21. Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Paving operations will close Elgin Street, between Ste. Anne Road and Beech Street and Beech Street to Elm Street, on Oct. 16, 17, and 19. Final paving, surface asphalt, will take place on Oct. 20 and 21. Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Police will be on site directing traffic, while paving within the intersections is taking place.

Paving operations will close Old Highway 17, from McCharles Lake Road to Koti Road and from Simon Lake Drive to the bridge near Eve Street, on Oct. 15 and 16. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. If additional days are needed, work will be done on Oct. 17 and 18. One lane of traffic will be maintained.

Culvert and water main installation will close Marier Street, from north of Bernadette Street to M.R. 35, starting on Oct. 19 through to Oct. 31. Access will be maintained for local traffic and emergency vehicles. Detours will be in place. The project was expected to commence at the beginning of October but was pushed back due to a delay in supply of materials.
