Trio of St. Joe's employees awarded $1,000 bursaries

St. Joseph’s Health Centre helping to further education of its employees

This past year St. Joseph’s Health Centre established a corporate bursary fund to support education for employees interested in pursuing their own continuing education opportunities.

The bursary is funded through proceeds from a portion of the monthly staff 50/50 draw.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre awards education bursaries to reimburse up to 100 per cent of education costs, up to a maximum of $1,000 per year, incurred by regular full-time or regular part-time employees who choose to pursue: non-credit development opportunities including conferences, workshops and seminars, or credit courses or multi-course programs of an academic, professional or business nature.

This year’s recipients are Kari Gervais, VP clinical services, Sadna Hettiarachchi, food services assistant, St. Joseph’s Villa and Michelle Viel, personal care assistant, Villa St. Gabriel Villa.
