The Parkinson's Support Group of Sudbury will sell tulips on March 23 to help support activities and awareness for families living with Parkinson's disease in the community.

The Hope in Bloom campaign usually takes place in April, during Parkinson Awareness Month, but will happen earlier this so people can purchase fresh-cut and potted tulips in time for Easter.

The tulip has long been the symbol of hope for people living with Parkinson’s disease, says the Parkinson's Support Group of Sudbury.

Tulips will be available for sale on March 23 at three locations in Sudbury:

The Health Sciences North hospital cafeteria will host an event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the New Sudbury Centre will have tulips for sale near the north entrance from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and the ParkSide Centre downtown will host volunteers selling tulips from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tulips will be sold in bunches (eight stems) or as a potted plant (five to six stems) in a variety of colours.
