Greater Sudbury Emergency Services have partnered with WPCSM for the past eight years to recognize the work of specially-trained hospice palliative care volunteers who support individuals and families facing terminal illness.

This year’s honorary chair for the gala, silent auction and dance, is City of Greater Sudbury fire Chief Marc Leduc. “Warmhearts volunteers complement the important work provided by the city’s emergency medical, police and fire services,” said Chief Leduc.

“By providing respite to families faced with terminal illness, these volunteers provide a viable and valuable contribution to hospice palliative care.”

In recognition of National Hospice Week, WPCSM will host its Eighth Annual Gala Silent Auction/Dance on Saturday, October 24, at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, Brady Street, Sudbury. Tickets are $35.00 per person and include hot and cold appetizers, as well as performances by Jeff Wiseman and the Firefighters’ Choir, a dance and a silent auction. All proceeds from this event will remain in the community, according to a city release.
