Vale Inco reaches agreement with Local 105 guards

Vale Inco announced Saturday afternoon, Oct. 31, an agreement on a new five year contract reached with one of its unions, Local 105 of the Canadian Guards Association. Approximately 50 protection services officers would have seen their current collective agreement expire at midnight Oct. 31.

Approximately 50 protection services officers in the Sudbury operations of the company have a new five year collective bargaining agreement, said Steve Ball, manager of corporate affairs in a release late Saturday afternoon.

“The current collective agreement expires at midnight on Saturday, Oct. 31. Protection Services Officers provide first aid and security to all Vale Inco locations in Sudbury,” said Ball.
