On March 5, a total of 17 projects were presented at the Project Impact Community Celebration at St. Andrew’s Place.

They included plans to build gardens, inside and out, a bike exchange, making walking routes safer and more pleasant, growing baby fish, a workshop for new immigrants, art and nature displays and making fruit snacks for kids.

All worthy projects, but which ones will be funded?

You choose which projects to fund. Go to projectimpact.ca to see projects posters and videos about each project, or go to your local library to find out more out each project.

Then vote! Vote either online or at your local library for your five favourite projects.

Voting closes March 20. Bring your kids to the library for March Break and ask them what their favourite projects are. There’s even an online map, which shows where in Greater Sudbury each project might occur.

Once the voting ends, the results will be tallied and funds will be allotted to as many projects as possible depending on donations received from the community.

Donate to Project Impact and get some awesome perks too like passes to local festivals, posters and postcards, a draw for dinner for two at Tuco’s Tacos and more.

You can donate online with a credit card or with Paypal. Charitable tax receipts are available for donation of $50 or over. The more donations, the more projects will be funded. Last year, the community funded nine projects.

“We had a great celebration on the weekend. We shared ideas, made connections and learned about the dreams of the community. There are so many great projects. We’d like to see all of them get funded,” said Lilly Noble, co-chair of Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury.

Project Impact is organized by Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury. The Social Planning Council of Sudbury is a partner on this project.
