Julia Burns has proven herself to be Sudbury's spelling champion with her victory in the regional spelling bee for the intermediate division at Tom Davies Square on April 12.
The Marymount Academy student is an avid writer and has taken part in previous competitions, but never came on top, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board said in a news release.
“We are extremely proud of her,” said Marymount Academy principal Lucie Cullen. "She is a delightful girl and we know she will do a good job representing us
Julia will take her talent to Toronto on May 3 for the provincial spelling bee in the Aga Khan Museum.
