Chief of Police Ian Davidson and Mayor John Rodriguez joined a group, including cancer survivors, on the Canadian Cancer Society's Walk A Mile In His Shoes.

The one-mile, lunchtime walk was held to bring awareness to prostate cancer and fund prostate cancer research.

This was the first time the event was hosted in Ontario. In Ontario, an estimated 10,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and approximately 1,650 men will die of the disease in 2008.

The prostate cancer death rate has declined by two per cent annually since 1995. Visit www.checkupchecklist.cancer.ca.
