Shelley Gosselin couldn’t believe her ears when she got the call that she had won Health Sciences North’s August 50/50 draw fundraiser and the $83,120 prize that went along with it.

The HSN August 50/50 Cash Lottery for the North was sponsored by Health Sciences North (HSN) Foundation, HSN Volunteer Association, NEO Kids Foundation and Northern Cancer Foundation.

Gosselin, a New Liskeard resident, won with her winning ticket No. C-4082811.

She said she’ll use the money to take her eight grandchildren on vacation.

The September HSN 50/50 Cash Lottery is now live, with a guaranteed minimum prize of $5,000.

Tickets can be purchased online at HSN5050.ca at a rate of 10 for $10, 30 for $20 and 100 for $40.

The jackpot will be updated online in real-time for each month’s draw and will continue to grow as more people participate. The proceeds will support patient care at HSN, the hospital said in a news release.

Tickets for the September draw are available until Sept. 30 at 11:59 p.m. The winning ticket will be drawn on Oct. 1 at 11:00 a.m. and posted on HSN5050.ca website, where you can also find all other details and up-to-date jackpot total. The lottery licence number is No. 11977.
