The winter storm watch for Greater Sudbury and the surrounding area has officially ended, says Environment Canada.

By 12:30 p.m. Monday Environment Canada had lifted a winter storm warning for Greater Sudbury it issued earlier in the week.

The city was hit by heavy snowfall Monday night and Tuesday morning.

As of 12:30, Environment Canada has not issued the total snowfall accumulation in Sudbury during the storm, but it had predicted Sudbury would receive between 20 and 30 cm of snow during the storm.

The watch remains in effect for other parts of Northern Ontario, including in the North Bay area.
