As thousands of students get settled into the grind of their daily commute, authorities are reminding motorists to be more aware and cautious on the roads, especially around school buses.

This week, the Greater Sudbury Police Services have been keeping a close watch on speed limits and distracted driving. School bus drivers also stress the importance of patience when it comes to boarding and unloading yellow school buses. Motorists are reminded to obey bus signals, as all vehicles traveling behind or approaching must come to a complete stop.

Parents are also being urged to talk to their children about boarding the bus, being safe on the roads and side walks, and not darting out into traffic.
