The Mr. Lube location at 1813 Regent Street is offering Canadian Forces veterans free oil changes on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.

It's part of a national campaign by Mr. Lube locations across Canada to offer free oil changes on Nov. 10 to Canadian Forces veterans and active enlisted military personnel.

The Regent Street Mr. Lube, though, is going one better, offering two days of free oil changes instead of just the one.

"Mr. Lube is doing it for one day only, and most, if not all locations are participating," said Salim Dedanwala, owner of the Mr. Lube on Regent. "What we're doing at our location is we'll be extending the offer into Nov. 11 as well."

While Dedanwala does not have any immediate family members who are veterans of the Canadian Forces, he still has the utmost respect for Canada's service men and women and feels a strong connection to them.

"Everybody through some way or another has some connection to our military," said Dedanwala. "Our location's manager Corey, his mother is involved with the legion so we've put a poster up there to let the veterans know that this offer is available."

The program was first implemented in Kelowna in 2014 by franchise owner Darren Pierce. The company then decided to expand the program across the province, and it is now done across Canada.

To receive a free oil change at Mr. Lube on Nov. 10 or 11, veterans or current military individuals must provide service ID or have a veterans licence plate.
