Canada World Youth is looking for nine local families to host 18 youth as part of an exchange program.

The youth — nine from Ukraine and nine from Canada — will live in Sudbury from September to November and in Ostroh, Ukraine from December to February.

They're participating in the Youth Leaders in Action Program, an educational and cross-cultural exchange focused on experiential learning experiences to inspire informed and global citizens.

While they're in Sudbury, the youth will contribute more than 1,000 volunteer hours here.

Local families participating in the program are being asked to host one Canadian youth and one Ukrainian youth from Sept. 7 to Nov. 28. Canada World Youth would provide $180 per week to assist with the costs associated with billeting participants.

All families types are welcomed, including Francophones, racial and ethnic minorities, same-sex couples, single parents, young professionals and retired households.
