Aboriginal youth representatives from all Rainbow secondary schools will participate in the second in a series of leadership activities being presented by Great Lakes Cultural Camps.

The Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program is one example of how the Rainbow District School Board will ensure success for all students by building leadership capacity among First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth.

Hands Across the Border is the topic of the session on March 30, and will be held at Lively District Secondary School from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. This session helps youth explore cross cultural stress and bicultural growth, prejudice and racism.

It focuses on problem-solving, knowing how to belong to the world human family and how to understand racism. Youth learn to celebrate their culture and strengthen cultural pride.

Additional leadership sessions will be presented as follows:
April 28 - Earth Ambassadors
May 11 - Great Lakes Cultural Camp Experience
