ARMSTRONG, William Robert ‘‘Bob’’

March 16, 1937 – April 6, 2024

‘‘The farce is over, the curtain is drawn, I’ve gone to seek the great perhaps...’’

After a very short illness Bob died, April 6, 2024 surrounded by his wife and sons. He is survived by his wife Bobbi of nearly 65 years and his sons, Whitney (Judy), Stuart, Chris (Diane), grandson Malcolm, his sister Cathy (John), as well as by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Bob loved his camp on Windy Lake for over 50 years but also loved to travel. His work after retirement for INCO included much world travel, which took him to Germany (HDRK) and Indonesia (P.T. INCO). Bob and Bobbi also cherished the home he built in Onaping 45 years ago. He enjoyed nothing better than a good book (often about religion even though he was a staunch atheist) or sitting on the back deck with a gin and tonic once most of the black flies were gone, planting hanging pots of flowers. He was a Tai Chi instructor for over 30 years.

The family is grateful to the doctors at Health Sciences North, Emergency Cancer Treatment, Claudette at Bayshore, the very supportive Emergency Services, Sudbury Police Service and the Cooperative Funeral Home, Chelmsford.

Family and friends may gather for a celebration of life at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2-4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
