It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 79 yrs. He battled COPD which he fought fiercely and courageously until the very end.
Beloved son of the late Romain and late Laureze (née Rouleau) Bélanger. Loving father of Ricky Bélanger (Cathy) and Ken Bélanger (Holly). Predeceased by his son Tim Bélanger, where the two are now reunited again. He will be sadly missed by his long time friend Reina Bélanger. Cherished grandfather of Alexis (Justin), Alyssa and Keegan.
Dear brother of Hélène Mainville (Ralph), Paulette Bélanger (Gaëtan), Annette McHugh (Bob), Irène Bélanger, Donald Bélanger and Normand Bélanger. Predeceased by his sisters Romance Méthé (Gerry) and Claudette Vaillancourt (Armand). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Richard will be remembered as part owner of Bélanger Ready Mix. He rejoiced working alongside his brothers Donald and Normand for many years. He enjoyed spending time at all the family gatherings. Among his favorite hobbies were riding his horses in the early years of his life and was his happiest when watching the TV show Bonanza on You Tube. He always had a passion for hockey, especially when coaching his boys. He was also a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We would like to thank the countless hours of devoted care from all the Home Care staff, especially Marie, Kay and Helana.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The family will receive relatives and friends at Ste-Agnès Church, Azilda on Saturday, October 14, 2023, after 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca

C’est avec grande tristesse que la famille annonce son décès à Sudbury, le mercredi 27 septembre 2023 à l’âge de 79 ans, suite à une lutte courageuse de MPOC.
Fils de feu Romain et Laureze (née Rouleau) Bélanger. Père bien-aimé de Ricky Bélanger (Cathy) et Ken Bélanger (Holly). Réunit avec son fils Tim Bélanger. Il sera également regretté par son amie Reina Bélanger. Lui survivent ses chers petits-enfants Alexis (Justin), Alyssa et Keegan.
Cher frère d’Hélène Mainville (Ralph), Paulette Bélanger (Gaëtan), Annette McHugh (Bob), Irène Bélanger, Donald Bélanger et Normand Bélanger. Prédécédé par ses soeurs Romance Méthé (Gerry) et Claudette Vaillancourt (Armand). Il sera également regretté par plusieurs neveux, nièces, parentés et amis.
On se souviendra de Richard comme copropriétaire de Bélanger Ready Mix. Il s'est réjoui de travailler aux côtés de ses frères Donald et Normand pendant de nombreuses années. Il aimait passer du temps à tous les rassemblements familiaux. Parmi ses passe-temps favoris, il y avait l'équitation dans les premières années de sa vie et il était le plus heureux lorsqu'il regardait l'émission télévisée Bonanza sur You Tube. Il a toujours eu une passion pour le hockey, surtout lorsqu'il entraînait ses garçons. Il était également un grand fan des Maple Leafs de Toronto.
Nous tenons à remercier le personnel de Home Care, en particulier Marie, Kay et Helana, pour les innombrables heures de soins dévoués qu'ils nous ont prodigués.
À sa demande, il n’y aura aucune visite. La famille recevra parentés et amis à la Paroisse Ste-Agnès, Azilda, le samedi 14 octobre 2023 après 10h30 suivit par une messe à 11 h.
