Alma Frappier (née Castonguay February 1, 1929)

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of the most amazing mother in the world, on November 23, 2023, at the age of 94 years young.

Beloved wife of the late Rene Frappier (1999). Daughter of the late Francis Castonguay, and the late Lorenza (née Vadeboncoeur).

Devoted mother of Susanne Frappier (Sydney Carrier from Montreal), Diane Frappier (best friend Dennis Dixon), Louise Mizuik (Brian) and Lionel “Leo” Frappier (Liz Dixon).

Surviving siblings Gerry Castonguay (Rita-predeceased) and Helene Venne (Ray-predeceased from Edmonton). Predeceased siblings Phillias (Edna), Amanda (Harvey Langis), Emile, Pete (Mary), Marie-Rose St-Jacques (Raymond), Leo (Marie-Jeanne), Roger (Brenda surviving) and Steve (Deloris surviving from Barrie).

Treasured grandmother of Jennifer Mizuik (Craig), Steven Mizuik (Natalie from England UK), Robert Frappier, Renée Frappier and step-grandchildren Sherry Cunningham (Miles) and Derrick Dixon (Dannielle from Ottawa). Beloved great-grandmother of Faith, Arlen, Rene, Miro and Gene. Step-great-grandmother of Megan and Curtis Cunningham.

Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Having survived open heart surgeries, diabetes, congestive heart failure, she certainly defied the odds.

Sadly, for all of us, she eventually had to succumb to her calling. It’s never easy to accept the loss of a loved one, especially a mother. We should all take comfort in knowing she is now without pain and resting peacefully. She dreamt of angels and now she has gained her wings.

Mom was the happiest surrounded by family. She was a very classy lady, always dressed to the nines. She lived for her family. She loved going to the bingo, loved to sew, dance, play poker, play Skip-Bo and loved cooking and telling jokes. She lived life to the fullest. Thanks to all who took the time to go see her, she appreciated it. Last words I LOVE YOU ALL WITH MY HEART. Thanks to all the staff at Extendicare York on the 3rd floor.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, on Thursday, November 30 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.
