GIBSON, Evelyn (née Augustine)
It is with heavy hearts and eternal love that the family announces Evelyn’s peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family in Chelmsford, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the age of 93 years.
Evelyn is reunited with the love of her life, best friend, and dear husband, late William ‘‘Bob’’ Gibson on what would be their 75th year of matrimony.
Evelyn will be forever missed by her three daughters Wendy Johnston (late Charles), Janet Duffy (David) and Paula Gibson.
Her four grandchildren, Caley, Darcy, David, and Dawn will always know the love and devotion Grama had for them.
Her Great-grandchildren Samantha, Madison, Alexander, Logan, Soloman, Ezra, Abraham, Suzanna, Job and Ruth; and Great-great-grandchildren, Everlee and Enzlee will remember Gran’s kind smile and loving touch.
Evelyn was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew and late Freda (née Herschmiller) Augustine of Melville Saskatchewan and dear sister of Hilda and Wilfred, predeceased by Dorothy, Harold, Emma and Rita.
She is sadly, missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many wonderful friends. Evelyn’s beautiful soul left a legacy of kindness and caring to those who knew her and those who’s lives she touched through her volunteerism and devotion to the community.
A talented tailor, passionate gardener, and inspirational leader including Brownies, Girl Guides, Lioness Clubs, Fire Fighter Flames Association along with many other service groups, Evelyn shared her compassion and touched many with her kindness.
A celebration of life will be held at Sudbury Bible Fellowship, 1661 Lansing Avenue, Sudbury Thursday, September 28th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Donations can be made by cheque, or online to the Arthritis Society, or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
