GLADU, Gérard Noé ‘‘Gerry’’

June 10, 1936 – October 10, 2023

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Pioneer Manor.

Beloved husband of 67 years to Gilberte Gladu. Loving father of Monique (Roger Landry), Joanne (Tim Dagenais) and Michelle (Louis Laforest). Treasured “Pepère” to Réjean Landry (Nadine), Eric Landry (Heather), Donna Dagenais (Dan Collard), Kaleigh Dagenais (Kris Paquette) and Justin Laforest. Great-grandfather to Benoit, Téo and Maxime Landry, Canaan, Axxton and Indii Landry, Jordon and Trinity Dagenais, Jade, Jackson and Jameson Paquette. Survived by his sister and brothers Fernande Gervais (late Daniel), Sylvio (late Léa), Robert (Claire), Ray (late Marg) and Don (Françoise). Son of the late Louis Gladu and Marie-Louise Gascon. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Edouard (Ida), Claire Servais (Albert), Noëlla Desjardins (Ovila), Lucien (Cécile), Lucille Paquette (Jean), Armand (Jeannine), Fernand (Ida), Pauline Seagris (Ed), Aline Gladu, Roger (Noëlla) and Léo. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerry worked 30 years at Falconbridge Nickel Mine. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling. He loved spending time with family and friends. Gérard adorait passer du temps avec ses frères et ses soeurs à chanter des chansons à répondre. The family wishes to thank the Cedar Place staff at Pioneer Manor for the wonderful care given to Gerry during his 3 years stay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Friday, October 13, 2023 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 14, 2023 after 9:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Sudbury Chapter) or Parkinson Society (Sudbury Chapter).  www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
