GROTTOLI, Ila Ann (née Moran)

Passed away at the age of 95 years, at the North Bay Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 with son Jim by her side.

Born November 1st, 1927 to David “Tom” Moran and Lena (née Pringle). Lived her entire married life in Gatchell, with husband Ricardo Grottoli, deceased January 19th, 1966. Widowed at 39 with 2 sons and 2 daughters at home. Left to grieve, son James “Jim” Grottoli of North Bay, his children Tracey Lynn Ouellette (Kevin deceased) of BC, and Donna Marie Campbell (Richard) of Sudbury. Son Alfredo “Fred” Grottoli, wife Eleanor (née Hancock) of Lively, their children David James Grottoli of Sudbury and Laurie-Lynn Specht (Steven) of Lively. Daughter Angela Faye Grottoli, her children Jeffrey Comeau of North Bay, and Steven Comeau (Lisa) of Timmins. Daughter Marcella Hutchinson (Marcey) (deceased July 9th, 2018) (Teddy) of Simcoe, their son Raymond (Jamie) Hutchinson of Simcoe. Seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson (T.O.). Two sisters Joyce Barevich (Ed) of Welland (both deceased) and Gwen Lalonde (Ed – deceased) of Lethbridge, AB, as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

Ila was an amazing lady, with fortitude. Well respected in the business world. First at Kelly Lake Lumber, especially by Hap Baynard, then at Burkes Fuels by boss Mr. Burke and fellow employees. Being of Irish decent, did not prevent her from learning to read and write in Italian to keep connected with relatives overseas. 

Private graveside services on November 24th, 2022 at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
