Devoted and caring husband to Betty, cherished father of Wendy James (Les), Carl James Jr. (Amanda), Stevie James (predeceased), and Teena Spooner (Jason). The best Papa to Jessica, Chelsea, Kristin (Cameron), Jack, Alex, Cole, Dom and Quin.  Great-Papa to Arianna, Cierra, Daxton, Paisley, Maddox, and Miles.

Son of the late Mamie Gagne. Brother to Darlene Warren (Kenneth), Donna Bardawill (Rick), Wayne Gagne, Karon Gagne, Mary-Lou Johnston and the late Connie Gagne.

Son-in-law of the late Annie and Willliam Ladouceur. Brother in law to the late Frank Ingram (Brenda), Billy Ladouceur, the late Ken Ladouceur (Cora), Ronnie Ladouceur (Gloria), Gloria Plastino (Richard) and June Premo (Harry).  He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Carl lived a life defined by love and selflessness, dedicating his days to putting family first, with Betty at the center of it all. Carl spent many years working for Pioneer Construction then went into business as a long-haul truck driver.  Carl traveled from coast to coast hauling freight. His years as truck driver were marked by hard work and commitment, providing for those he held dear.

In his well-deserved retirement, he embraced the joys of life. Carl and Betty enjoyed traveling to Texas and spending time with the Bit-O-Heaven crew. He also went on many camping adventures and most importantly spent quality time with his family. In his spare time, Carl loved to fish, work on his vintage Cadillac, and tinker on projects in his garage. No project was too big or too small for him to fix! Carl was also a passionate fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

His legacy lives on through the warmth and love he shared, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed by so many. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love that he so generously gave throughout his life.

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Emack and his team, who’s care, and attention gave us more time to build lasting memories. Also, thank you so much to the staff at the Espanola Regional Hospital for always taking good care of him. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
