JEAN, Margaret (née McKinnon)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (GG), Margaret “Dodo” Jean (née McKinnon) on Tuesday, April 09, 2024, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in her 87th year. Daughter of the late Gerald and late Alma (née Martel) McKinnon. Beloved wife, best friend, and soulmate of the late Armand Sylvio Jean. Loving mother to the late Janie Saunders (Robert), Donny Jobin (Monique) and David Jobin (Kelly) and beloved stepmother of Monique (Dell) and Lise (Ron).

Margaret will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren Christopher (Amy), Jessica (Robert), Adam and late Patrick (Sandra). She was the best GG to Weston, Marcus, Isabella, Danilyn, Ryder, Kalli, and Hailey. They loved visiting and raiding her pantry of goodies.

Dear sister of Joan (late Bill), late Raymond (Betty), late Harry (Sadie) and late Gerald (Mary). Margaret will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Margaret was a devoted mother. She was very artistic and hands-on, leaving her creative touches wherever she went. No matter who you were, you were treated like family and welcomed into her circle. She enjoyed creating traditions with her family and all others who were fortunate enough to meet her. She was a very proud and involved member of the Minnow Lake Lions club serving 45 years of devoted and dedicated service. She was the first female president of the Minnow Lake Lion’s Club, leaving a proud legacy to all women following in her footsteps. She received numerous awards in recognition such as the Melvin Jones Fellowship and Chevron Awards. Margaret’s open-mindedness for accepting people for who they are, without judgement, positively impacted multiple generations.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, especially Riva and Joel for their care and compassion towards Margaret and her family. The family will receive guests and friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Caruso Club (Lower Hall) 385 Haig St, Sudbury, ON P3C 1C5. Gathering from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  All friends and family are welcome to join Margaret’s celebration of life with a luncheon to follow.

Donations by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
