LAFOREST, Rolland “Ron Sr.”
It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 96 years.
Son of the late Arthur and Lucille (née Lalancette) Laforest. Loving father of Ronald (Theresa) Laforest. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Sophie and step grandfather of Sarah and Kristyna. Proud great-grandfather of Olivia. Dear brother of Rita Maxwell (late Warren). Predeceased by his siblings Joseph “Pete”, Theresa Bryant, Noëlla Duncan and Raymond. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rolland was the owner and operator of Laforest Electric Inc which started in 1950, up until 1996 where his son took over ownership and he continued working along side his son till the young age of 87. Longtime resident of St-Charles in the West Arm where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Funeral Mass with be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church, Sudbury. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Diabetes Canada. www.cooperativefuenralhome.ca

C'est avec une grande tristesse que la famille annonce son décès à Sudbury le samedi 9 mars 2024, à l'âge de 96 ans.
Fils de feu Arthur et Lucille (née Lalancette) Laforest. Père bien-aimé de Ronald (Theresa) Laforest. Il laisse dans le deuil ses petits-enfants Ryan, Sophie et « step grand-père » de Sarah et Kristyna. Fier arrière-grand-père d'Olivia. Cher frère de Rita Maxwell (feu Warren). Prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs Joseph « Pete », Theresa Bryant, Noëlla Duncan et Raymond. Il laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs neveux, nièces, famille élargie et amis. Rolland a été propriétaire de Laforest Électrique Inc qui a débuté en 1950, jusqu'en 1996 où il a continué à travailler avec son fils « le nouveau propriétaire » jusqu'au la jeune âge de 87 ans. Il était résident de St-Charles « West Arm » où il aimait faire la pêche et la chasse.
