It is with extreme sorrow that the family announces the passing of Albert Leroux on December 2,2023 at the age of 92 and the passing of Lucille Leroux (née Mailloux) 3 hours later at the age of 89, the day after their 72nd wedding anniversary.  Albert was born in 1931 to Arthur and Mathilda Leroux (both predeceased) and Lucille was born in 1934 to Lucien and Honora Mailloux (both predeceased).  In 1951, Albert and Lucille were married and were inseparable ever since, even in death.

Together, they raised their children, Diane, Gerald (Patricia), Louise (Gilles), Annette (Wayne), Lucien (predeceased), Albert Jr. (Nathalie), Sylvia (Joe), and Joanne in Hanmer, Ontario.  In 1981, after Albert retired from working 30 years as a miner for INCO, Albert and Lucille relocated to Thunder Bay, Ontario with their youngest daughter when he accepted a position as a mining inspector.  In 1992, Albert and Lucille returned to the Greater Sudbury area in Val Therese, Ontario to be closer to their children and to their grandchildren: Melanie (Steven), Eric (Karyn), Gil, Alain (Tina), Liane (Mark), Paul, Vincent (Nicole), Rachelle (Scott), Jonathan (Jenna), Gilles (Dawn), Roxanne (Matthew), Tina (Jeremy), Kenn (Nicole), Samantha (Jeremy), and Russ.  Albert was also the dear oldest brother of the late Raymond (Beverley), the late Mabel (Tom predeceased), the late Omer (Lenore predeceased), Jeannette (Jean-Marc), the late Yvette, and Arthur Jr. (Jane predeceased; Joanne predeceased). Lucille was the youngest sister of Alfred (Agnes, Jeannette), Louis (Aurore), Laura (Sam), Eugene (Doris, Helen), Marie (Bill), Jeanne (Gordon), Bernard (Celine), Zotique (Therese), and Patricia (Vincent), all of whom predeceased her except for her sister-in-law, Therese.  Albert and Lucille are also lovingly remembered by their great-grandchildren as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and step-grandson, Kyle (Gabrielle).

Albert and Lucille had adventurous spirits.  They embarked on countless road trips together exploring Canada and the US to try out new golf courses, new casinos, and new restaurants.  However, they also enjoyed the simpler things in life like sharing a late-night hot chocolate, baking cookies, petting dogs and cats, watching birds and other wildlife, and spending time with their family.  Their memory will forever be in the hearts of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, on Sunday, December 10 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, December 11 at 9:00 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at St-Kevin’s Parish, Val Thérèse at 11:00 a.m
