It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the age of 75 years. Son of the late Edmond and late Rita (née Gaudette) Poulin. Beloved husband of Edna (née Girard) Poirier. Loving stepfather to Jo-Anne and Denis. Father to Thomas. Dear brother of Maureen, Richard, Steven, Carol, Kitty, Perry, Linda, Brenda, Kim, and Diane. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Marcel was born on September 14, 1948, and grew up with a strong sense of duty. He proudly served in the military for 15 years, displaying courage and commitment during his tours of duty. As a seasoned ex-soldier, Marcel carried the values of honor and discipline as well as unwavering dedication to his family and country.

Marcel's love extended beyond the battlefield, as he embraced the role of a devoted husband and father. Married for almost 24 years to his beloved wife, Edna, their enduring partnership was a testament to the strength of love and commitment. Together, they weathered life's storms and celebrated its joys, creating a home filled with warmth and love. He welcomed his stepchildren into his heart with open arms, treating them as his own. He was not just a guardian but a true friend, a source of guidance, and a role model of compassion.

In his retirement, Marcel found solace in simple pleasures such as cooking, gardening, reading, music, lapidary, and spending cherished moments with family and friends. His laughter, his wooden spoon playing, and his stories will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Marcel’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the principles he upheld. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever be a beacon of inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to call him family and friend.

A memorial service to celebrate Marcel's life will be held at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, after 2:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
