VENNE, Anne (née Lahaie)
C’est avec profonde tristesse que la famille annonce son décès, à Sudbury, à domicile le mardi 17 janvier 2023, à l’âge de 89 ans, suite à une récente lutte contre le cancer. Fille de feu Allen et Simone (née Pelletier) Lahaie. Prédécédée par son époux bien-aimé Edgar. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Guy Venne (Debbie) et sa fille Julie Courtemanche (David). Grand-maman bien-aimée de Josée, Véronique, France, Nicolas, Micheal et Nicholas. Chère soeur de George Lahaie (feu Rachelle), Lise Filion (ami François et feu Richard) et Suzanne Lamondin (ami Roger et feu Wally). Prédécédée par Roland Lahaie (Anna), Léo Lahaie (Ruth) et Denise Dahl (feu Earl). Également regrettée par ses belles-soeurs Claudette Venne, Laurence Venne, Jacqueline Monette et son beau-frère André Monette. Elle manquera aussi à tous ses neveux et nièces.
Anne Venne a œuvré comme gérante de la caisse populaire d’Alban (première femme gestionnaire en Ontario). Elle s’est dévouée à sa carrière d’enseignante pendant 36 ans - à l’élémentaire dans la région d’Alban et à Sudbury au Centre de traitement pour les enfants. Elle a été une bénévole engagée dans les communautés où elle a habité. Elle a toujours été au service de sa communauté paroissiale et a porté un soutien particulier aux personnes et familles nécessiteuses. Femme de foi chrétienne, elle a su faire siennes les valeurs de l’amour, du respect et de la charité.
La famille recevra parents et amis à la COOPERATIVE FUNÉRAIRE, 222, boul. Lasalle, Sudbury le vendredi 27 janvier 2023 de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Une messe funéraire sera célébrée le samedi 28 janvier à 11 h à la paroisse Ste-Anne-des-Pins. The family announces with deep sadness her passing at home in Sudbury on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of 89, following a recent battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Allen and the late Simone (née Pelletier) Lahaie. Predeceased by her beloved husband Edgar. She is survived by her son Guy Venne (Debbie) and her daughter Julie Courtemanche (David). Beloved grandmother of Josée, Véronique, France, Nicolas, Micheal and Nicholas. Dear sister of George Lahaie (late Rachelle), Lise Filion (friend François and late Richard) and Suzanne Lamondin (friend Roger and late Wally). Predeceased by Roland Lahaie (Anna), Léo Lahaie (Ruth) and Denise Dahl (late Earl). Also missed by her sisters-in-law Claudette Venne, Laurence Venne, Jacqueline Monette and her brother-in-law André Monette. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Anne Venne was the first woman in Ontario to be Manager of a Caisse Populaire (Alban). She dedicated her 36-year teaching career to the Alban elementary schools and the Sudbury Children's Treatment Center. She was a committed community volunteer and was an active parishioner within the Catholic
church where she invested much of her time helping needy families. She was a woman of faith who embraced the values of love, respect and charity.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, located at 222 Lasalle Blvd in Sudbury, on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28 at 11 a.m. at Ste-Anne-des-Pins parish.
