On Monday, June 7th, 2021, at the age of 83, Roland "Rolly" Viau, of Noëlville, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by loved ones, while holding hands with the love of his life, and devoted wife of 63 years, Ginette (née Roy). If you asked those who knew Rolly to describe him, you'd hear things like jokester, kind, funny, helpful, generous, warm, patient, gentle, jovial, caring, dedicated, a gentleman, Jack-of-all-trades, unforgettable, a great friend, and most of all, a dedicated family man. Loving father to Jocelyne, Daniel (Gisèle Bigras), Michel (Rita Burke), Pierre (Anne St-Jean) both predeceased, Mylène, Richard (Joëlle Quesnel), and Renelle (Brian Arsenault).  Cherished grandfather to Martine (Mark), Troy, Sylvain (Lori), Patrick (Jessica), Joey (Roxanne), Gaston, Danny (Robynn), Kevin (Krystal), Daphne (Shawn), Kimberlie, Zachary, François, Dominik (predeceased), Patricia (Andrew), Miguel (Brittney), Madelin, Peter, and Gabriel. He was also very proud of his 33 great-grandchildren. Loved by many, including his three sisters-in-law, Murielle (Léo-Paul Vallières), Constance (Jean-Marie Vincent), and Sylvie Roy. Roland will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Aurèle Viau and Diana (née Roy), and brother Victor. The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of support, as well as Aide aux Séniors in Noëlville, for which Roland was a volunteer for many years. Special thanks to the wonderful Personal Support Workers and entire team who cared for him over the last 6 years. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
