It is with great sadness that the family announce his passing in Sudbury, Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the age of 51 years. Beloved son of James Frederick Young (Beverley) of Hanmer and of the late Sharon Young (née Thibeault). Predeceased by his daughter Alyssa. Dear brother of Laurie Anne McCormack (Michael) of Hanmer and Tricia Lee Young (Marcel Skanes) of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by his stepbrothers and stepsister Andrea Death (Joel Gagné), Shane Death both of Hanmer and Jason Death (Andrea) of Blezard Valley. Loving uncle of Shannon Marie Chevrier (Jason), Seneca Sharon Oates (Louis Cavallin) both of Sudbury, and Sarah Lauren Serré (Patrick) of Hanmer. Step-uncle of Declan, Marc, Liam, Avah and Eli. Great-uncle of Lincoln and of a future great-niece and future great-nephew. Predeceased by his niece Victoria. Sadly missed by many cousins and extended family, friends, colleagues and his canine companion Cooper. Michael had a special connection with his Nova Scotia family who will miss him dearly. Michael had a passion for the outdoors including fishing, hunting and a great love of gardening. His love of music was immense and he always encouraged others to “keep the music going” which everyone will do in his memory. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Valley East Cemetery, Gravel Drive, Hanmer. (Due to the current pandemic and its restrictions, a 100 persons limit will be enforced.) There will be a celebration of life at a later date when we can all get together in Michael’s memory.
