Body recovered from fire near Sept-Iles after 23-year-old man reported missing

SEPT-ILES, Que. — Police recovered a body from a building fire near Sept-Iles, Que. on Friday after a 23-year-old man was reported missing in the area.

Surete Quebec spokeswoman Beatrice Dorsainville says police have yet to confirm the deceased person's identity. 

She says the man was reported missing around 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

Around the same time, a building fire was reported in Lac a la Cloche, near Sept-Iles.

Dorsainville says a body was recovered later in the day in the debris of the building, which was completely destroyed.

Investigators from Surete Quebec will be conducting analysis of the scene on Saturday.
